"A life dedicated to music." This describes Joefre Capangpangan and his family. His grandfather Jose Capangpangan played the trombone and was very famous for his performances in Cebu during the 50ies and 60ties. He past the passion for music to his children and grandchildren. Music is in their blood.
His father is the conductor of the Philippine National Police Band, plays the trombone and the bass. He is also known as arranger. One of his brothers, plays the trompet, the other one the trombone and french horn. The Sister plays the clarinette and the mother is singing.

Joefre Capangpangan , born Dec. 31 1982 in Consolacion at the island of Cebu started his career as musician way back in his childhood. In the Kindergarten he joined the choir and in highschool he played the bassoon as member of the Cebu Youth Symphonie Orchestra and was awarded the 1. Price in the National Music Competition of the Philippines, Cat B. for playing the blassoon at Nov.21. 1998.
During his College days, he became the lead saxophone player of the Silverstone Big Band Orchestra.
Durring the years 2004 - 2007 he was teaching music at the Korean Academy in Cebu.
Joefre Capangpangan international musical footprints
Joefre plays the saxophon, alto sax and soprano sax, clarinette, flute and the bassoon up to perfection. No wonder that Joefre is highly demanded as musician not just as a local jazz musician, but as international jazz entertainer.
As saxophone player he joined the Star ship cruises from 2007 -2010 and played as backup player at the Silver Sea Cruise Ship until present days and is nowadays performing his musical art at different locations in the Philippines as well.
Since 2005 Joefre Capangpangan is the Saxophone player of the Slabadu houseband and jams into the live performances at Slabadu every time, when he is around in Cebu.
